Come and Join us to ride in the Land of Gods on the Himachal Pradesh Motorcycle Tour. The region of eternal snow peaks, encompasses regions of great diversity, both on the cultural and the natural level with temples and natural sanctuaries. In this region, you will also find Shimla, which was in the past the capital of British during summer, and Manali, a hill station adopted by the Hippies for the nonchalance of its inhabitants and especially Dharamshala, where the Tibetan government in exile is installed and where His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama resides and also Manikaran, the holy pilgrimage for Hindus as well as for Sikhs.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in DELHI
We will meet you at Delhi Airport and transfer you to your Hotel.
Day 2
DELHI – MANALI. (2050 M / 6765 FT)
Post breakfast half-day city tour. Evening transfer to the bus station to board the overnight bus to Manali. It will be a 12 hours journey by comfortable Volvo semi sleeper bus.
Day 3
AT MANALI. (2050 M / 6765 FT)
Arrive at Manali in the morning. Post breakfast we’ll hold a briefing to cover safety precautions, touring style, road conditions, and check of personal equipment, with time to select our bikes and become familiar with starting procedures, control layouts, and bike handling. We will have a trial riding day exploring nearby places of Manali. Since the beginning of time, Kullu Valley has been known as ‘The Valley of the Gods’. We enjoy one of the most spectacular days of motorcycle touring anywhere in the world today as we run the cliff-hanging highway along almost vertical walls of the jungle and cascading waterfalls of the Beas River Valley.
Day 4
MANALI – MANIKARAN. (1760 M / 5810 FT) (100 Kms / 3 – 4 Hrs)
The ride from Manali to Manikaran is straight out of a picture book. The apple blossoms, the giant snowy peaks, with a sense of peace about them, sometimes lost in the clouds, so much like Shiva in repose and of course the Beas River. We arrive at this place which has magical legends woven around a long stay celestial couple Shiva and Parvati enjoyed here. Even The Sikh Guru Nanak Dev was a visitor with his disciple to this beautiful spot ringed by grim, forbidding mountains, famous also for steaming hot sulfur springs (water temperatures here reach well above 90 degrees C).
Day 5
MANIKARAN – MCLEODGANJ. (2082 M / 6831 FT) (230 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs)
Today we ride through the Tea Plantations en route visiting Baijnath Temple to Mcleodganj.
Day 6
AT MCLEODGANJ
Post breakfast we will Visit the His Holiness Dalai Lama Temple and the market by foot and then a short ride uphill to visit the Tibetan Children’s Village and St. Johns Church.
Day 7
MCLEODGANJ – REWALSAR – MANDI. (150 Kms / 4 – 5 Hrs)
Post breakfast we ride to Mandi Enroute visiting Rewalsar Lake – Buddhist Monastery.
Day 8
MANDI – SHIMLA. (2205 M / 7280 FT) (130 Kms / 4 – 5 Hrs).
Post breakfast we ride on the small hilly roads to Shimla Enroute visiting Tatopani hot springs. Queen of Hills and Summer capital of the British Raj through the Pine and Cedar forests. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Himachal Pradesh. Visit the Mall Road in Shimla.
Day 9
SHIMLA – SARAHAN. (2100 M / 6888 FT) (170 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs).
Post breakfast we ride on the to Sarahan via Thanedar an orchard town and the birthplace of apples in India. The theme of stunning scenery and the beautiful ride continues with staying overnight at the famous Ancient Bhima Kali Temple.
Day 10
SARAHAN – GUSHAINI (1370 M / 4500 FT) (150 Kms / 5 – 6 Hrs)
Post breakfast today we ride to Gushaini a small village on the banks of the Tirthan River. We ride back for 50 km on the Shimla road and take a diversion steep ascent to the Jalori Pass, through thick oak and cedar forests, and a more gentle descent on the far side of the pass, eventually joining up with the main road to Gushaini.
Day 11
GUSHAINI – MANALI (100 Kms / 2 – 3 Hrs) – DELHI
Today is our last day of riding back to Manali. We will reach Manali by the afternoon. Post lunch some time for shopping. Evening board the overnight Volvo bus to Delhi.
Day 12
DELHI.
Arrive in Delhi in the morning and transfer to your Hotel. Half-day city tour of Delhi. Post-dinner transfer to the Airport to board the flight back home.
